this stage lasts from 2-7yrs.the child is egocentric, animistic(believes all things including inanimate objects have life) and could not conserve(a mathematics idea that an object retains its identity despite changing its
appearance.

THE PRE- OPERATIONAL STAGE 2-7 years.
This is the stage at which language develops. also it is the time in which a child decentre's (to take another persons point of view. The child also has a tendency towards Centration (focusing on the Central part of the problem, and ignoring other factors that may be involved).

Children are unable to conserve possible identical volume of changing shape, (the which has more question).

Children are unable to visualise what another person can see from a different position.

A readiness to learn. Piaget believes that children cannot learn certain concepts until they reach the concrete operations stage.Teaching children concepts which are beyond their stage will lead to frustration.

Teachers adhere strongly to this theory in early education.
