Kittens
This is kind of like asking Beatles or Stones? Most people are one or the other. Both have their good and bad points. Here's how I look at it. Dogs are more like kids. They like to give and recieve more affection than cats, but they also require more attention. Me being a busy father raising a three year old on my own, I have no time to take care of a dog. That's why I love my cat. I feed him once a day and change his litter once a week. He cleans himself, doesn't make a mess, doesn't tear up shoes and pillows, and if I leave for the weekend, I don't need a baby sitter to watch him.
Kittens and puppies are great, but remember that they are only babies for a small while. The cuteness wears off the first time your beloved puppy poops on your floor. You have to decide if you are a cat or dog person.

I prefer kittens because they all eventually grow up, and I get along with adult cats better than adult dogs. But puppies are just as cute.

Depends on the person. Kittens are more for the snugglers, and puppies are for the runners.
