Yes, I agree with your statement.

We are the example of Christ and should walk in his steps and in the Word. This is true in every aspect of our day and life. While we are only human, and will sin or make mistakes....on here we have to opportunity to witness to so many...and have the time to back up our words with scripture.

Perhaps Christians that cannot hold their tongue and say something nice or state scriptural facts should just love thy neighbor and remain silent.

The accronym T.H.I.N.K. comes to mind.

Before you speak.......THINK!

Thoughtful
Honest
Intelligent
Necessary
Kind

The world would be such a better place.

God Bless

I am too, but some christians grow tired of certain questions that could mislead a less intelligent person (unlike yourself) to believing it's "cool" to believe in anything else and so they get mad, and judge, without remembering that these two emotions are sins and are connected to vanity. These are considered sins because like you said they give us all a bad rap, (talk about a backfire) they come back at us by giving the world an opinion that we as christians are "stuffy" "opinionated" "self righteous"etc. and nobody wants to have anything to do with a God who promotes that.
Pretty amazing how a sin really works, so I say if the answer to the question can be given without sin then let it be given.
EVERY ONE ELSE JUST SHUT UP!
Let the preachers of the world do there job, all you have to do is direct the lost to one of them. Peace!

I think you are right. We, as Christians, should not be harsh in our answers. We should try to answer the question in a way that will at least be given thought and shows our love for the asker.
But we also must not sugar-coat the truth so that our point does not come across.

Don't you love how people put 'christians only', or similar things on questions, as if the rest of us aren't going to read it or reply just because of that?

There's no way for Christians to come across as a group of loving people. History proves that. Even your question is phrased in an exclusionary way.

Maybe you're in the wrong religion.

I am afraid that this question will also breed hate filled responses. I have asked a similar question and had to report three of the answerers. Those that answer with hate, are not true Christians. And yes, I am tired of them giving the rest of us a bad name.

Unless a person truly believes in a religion, all they can do is pass judgment on just brief observations. Just don't pay attention to them. As long as you believe in Christianity you shouldn't let these small comments affect you.

I agree w/ you..we need to be a light..I chose to not respond to most atheist questions...mainly because I do have strong feelings about individuals who deny my savior! I know that in order to win souls we have to have compassion...may be I need help from the Lord to not get so angry at them.. but they are so disrespectful to christians..I know we are blessed when men ridicule us in his name sake..I dont mind so much when they make fun of us, but my skin crawls when they poke at Jesus the man who gave his life for everyone esp the non-believers. I am older now and know that saying your going to hell is a dumb thing to say to someone who doesnt believe!! God Bless

I absolutely agree. I asked this question:

Why are those who claim to be the most religious often the most judgmental and critical?
I've found this to be very true. I don't understand how someone can claim to be Christian can damn and condemn others as though they are better. God says to love others as yourself. It's not our place as mere mortals to judge our neighbors.

yes, some Christians do pass judgement. But doesn't evenyone?! Christians are not perfect, we're only human that are supposed to be practicing christianity. We're not God. So it's only normal for Christians or any religion pass judgement.
