Let me tell ya 'bout the birds and the bees
And the flowers and the trees
And the moon up above
And a thing called "Love"
Let me tell ya 'bout the stars in the sky
And a girl and a guy
And the way they could kiss
On a night like this
When I look into your big brown eyes
It's so very plain to see
That it's time you learned about the facts of life
Starting from A to Z
Let me tell ya 'bout the birds and the bees
And the flowers and the trees
And the moon up above
And a thing called "Love" (Yeah!)
When I look into your big brown eyes
It's so very plain to see
That it's time you learned about the facts of life
Starting from A to Z
Let me tell ya 'bout the birds and the bees
And the flowers and the trees
And the moon up above
And a thing called "Love"
Let me tell ya 'bout the birds and the bees
And the flowers and the trees
And the birds and the bees
And the flowers and the trees
'Bout the birds
(fade)
And the bees

I just asked the same question not that long ago. I have no idea!! My parents always told me about sex from the time I could remember and didn't do the "birds and bees" thing.

The bees fly from flower to flower redistributing the pollen and causing the flowers to make seeds so they can make new plants - the birds mate and lay eggs and the eggs hatch into babies. This is a story to show that all living things reproduce their own kind and probably originated in farming communities where children see animals mating and giving birth regularly. ( I asked my mom who is 97 and remembers hearing this stuff so it's probably right)

Bird and bees all find mates and have babies. That's it in a nutshell.
