I dont think men really live longer if they are married. At least not all men who are married. Some can be married and be totally unhappy and that can turn to health problems too and perhaps a shorter lifespan if in acontinous bad marriage.

The generality is that people who live with other people can live longer because they are also motivated and challenged by other's existence.

Leave a person alone all the time and death will come sooner than anybody else.

It was proven with an experiment of baby monkeys a long time ago. They separated the monkeys from their mom and gave them a fake doll monkey as mom. After a few days they baby monkeys wouldnt eat. After a few weeks they stopped having normal behavior and died.

PHYSICAL CONTACT IS NECESSARY FOR SURVIVAL.

sO i guess if you have a good marriage where you get a lot of attention and care from, your odds are higher about living longer than if you lived either alone (ifyou are unhappy alone) or in a bad relation.

First, because the theory is that people who are not alone are less depressed and more apt to experience life more.

Second, the theory is that a woman tends to look after a man when they're married. Traditionally, she cooks, and he eats better, rather than bachelor meals (fast food, etc)

Also, when one has a mate, they are more apt to take care of themselves medically if something comes up. Men, traditionally, avoid the doctor if they become ill. When they are married, they have a wife around pushing them to have any illnesses looked into where they would ignore it longer if they were alone.

statistics show men live longer when they are married; it's because they have someone taking care of them. wives make them go to the dr, wives make them eat properly, wives handle all the things that make you nuts & old before your time, such as bills, laundry, the kids, the checkbook, the household.
