well you try saying hey your baby is butt ugly.
you tell the parents the baby is beautiful of course oh and babies can sometimes look a bit ugly and as they grow they can get better looking.

The nicest pair of legs I've ever seen were on a butt ugly woman. Beauty lies in many areas. You could also slip the name of "your" plastic surgeon under the baby's pillow.

Avoid the topic altogther. If it is brought up just say things like 'your baby is an angel' 'your baby is so sweet', 'what a smile!' etc. which is not necessarily focused on overall looks. Good luck!

Wow sweet, that way you are not lying.
But most newborns are not pretty. They look like little naked kittens, or something.
My son was so red, he looked like a little baby rat. But just for a few days and he got a little color and became the prettiest baby I have ever seen!!

You don't have to comment on it's looks at all, so you don't have to lie and say Oh how cute... Just congratulate them on the birth of a healthy baby and tell them that "babies are a blessing, aren't they?"

All baby's are ugly at birth. Anyone that tells you different is lieing toyou just to be nice but that's O K.

Since i have never actually seen your baby, i'll have to take your word that she is really that ugly.
But i would be polite and not say anything unkind around you.
It sounds like you have enough to worry about already.

Try to grin and keep the gasping to a minimum. Comment on how much hair they have, the color of their eyes, something. Then when you turn around to leave, you can shutter to yourself. Just make sure mom doesn't see you.

Just be nice, I may be castigated for this but a lot of babys arn't that cute at first.
