i have approx. 600 hours in ultralights. i am an instructor. ultralights are the least expensive way to get into the air and a blast to fly. average training time for a non pilot is 12 hours and for a ga pilot about 4 hours of transition. you are an eaa member? i will assume also a pilot. the safety record for ultralights is very good, however many ga pilots who think of them as a toy and don't get instruction crash. if you are interested in more information contact me. www.westernnevadaultralighters.com

yes i own one they can be fun and very exciting. they are cheap to run and safe you will experience allot of turbulence though but even if your engine cuts out you can still land on any smooth surface with out crashing
