Why is there war?

WARS are needed as a natural part of human evolution. When you look at war from a long-range perspective, it becomes clear that, as destructive as wars are, their very destructiveness has served as the primary force for the evolution of the human race. By mercilessly elimnating those who were unable to survive in the theater of war, wars resulted in a constant upgrading of both the physiological and intellectual acuity of man.

Although many bright people perish in wars, the preponderance of the casualties occur among people with the limited intellectual capacity to understand the mechanics of wars and who are thus unable to avoid becoming casualties.

Who would seriosly dispute the fact that smart people have higher living standards than intellectually less endowed persons do? War elimnates the intellectually less fit and thus, in the end, raises the average intelligence and the living standards of society as a whole.

Throughout the ages, evolution took advantage of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse, war, natural disasters, disease and famine.

If we succeed in eliminating armies and war, we are also eliminating war in its capacity as a powerful contributor to evolution by keeping the world population in check. We are now at 6 billion humans, scientific projections of growth predict 10 billion within 50 years...mostly in under developed countries. Humanity will reach the limits of available resources at 9-12 billion..this is not sustainable.

We can only speculate as to which path evolution will take in reducing the world from 10 to 3 billion. A battle for resources will favor those with higher levels of intelligence and rationality. Evolution never receds to irrationality, superstition and stupidity.

There is war because there are some very rotten people who are super greedy who want to rob entire nation's treasuries by owning the companies that supply warfare materials to warmongering nations. These people are called War Pigs. Often they wrest control of a nation or government by illegal and corrupt means, like stealing elections, a coup, or by using brute force. Once in power, they do their planned deeds no matter what havoc, mayhem, chaos, deaths and destruction they cause, no matter how many people die. They are happy to send troops off to war, even though they sidestepped their own responsibility and duty to go to war themselves. Usually their children also manage to dodge out, while less monied kids get to go off to foreign lands and possibly get killed before returning home battle scarred both physically and emotionally. Oddly enough, the names Rumsfeld and Cheney are both war pigs, who not only are waging a very profitable war today, but also back in the 1970s and 1980s they also bilked the USA out of $Billions by lying about technology the Russians had, urging the purchase of their wares by the US government. Later it was discovered that Russia did not have the tech "we" thought, and it was all an unnecessary expense...at a cost of hundreds of billions. Look it up! They're doing it again today, only in a different way.

There is no way to protect this country now and in the future without one. After 9/11 if we didn't go to war what do you think would have happened. Another horrible incident. Thousands more of innocent dead on American soil. We need this for our future.

Because people cannot resolve their differences in a civilized manner. Rather than sit down and discuss a problem and to solve it easily for a compromise on both countries, they send their strongest men and women off to get killed. Why do wars happen though? people are intolerant of what they do not understand, so they fear it, and destroy it.
