because they want to think that we live in a perfect world where men love women and things are concrete, but things are not always concrete and times change. people are not ashamed of homsexuality anymore and that scares people so the easiest thing to do is blame the people who engage in these activities because blaming it on hormones and dna would be blaming god, and anything that he does can't be wrong.

You are simply bringing emotion into the argument and thats a logical fallacy.
So why do people believe being gay is a choice? Because it is possible to become straight after you are gay. This is proven with personal testimonies:

I don't think it is a choice. It is a condition that you can overcome. maybe that is why they say it is a choice. I won't go into the whether it is right or wrong, but I will say that God gave Adam Eve and not another man. You heard that argument, but the fact is that the human race could die off if everyone was totally gay. With that in mind, it is a condition that is dangerous to all humans. It is hard to compare to other human urges, but like other urges mankind have in general, they can be overcome through counseling and support. I suspect that a person feels why should they try to stop being what they are? But that same thing could be said about an alcoholic, child molester, rapist, murderer, dare devil, and persons who are bolemic. (don't get mad about the comparisons, used just to show urges-gays are not murderers or child molesters). They all have urges that seem to overwhelm them and so they act on them.
For sure the things you have to endure are great and it must be difficult. The solution must seem to get everyone to accept it. But the real solution as show above is to overcome it. I think it is a terrible burden because it is aganist Gods's design and his commandments.
Think about this. Maybe it will help. if not, try to find some kind of peace in your life and accept and ignore what you will have to endure. But I recommend you seek help, because you will have all the support you possibly could dream of.

I'll tell you why. Because if it's not a choice, you're not responsible for your actions, and it's a whole lot easier if you don't have so much responsability. Being responsible really tends to cut into the fun times.

Often when something goes against someone's beliefs or personal experience, they try to rationalize a reason as to why that thing exists. In the case of homosexuality, because it is so foreign to some people, or against their religion (or they may be angry and frightened by feelings they may have once had for someone of the same sex-- this is normal, and doesn't make you gay), they characterize it as a "sickness" as a "curse" or as a "choice".

They don't want to admit that they are Genetically messed up (retarded sorry but there is no other word).
So the only other word that sounds okay for them is to say: It a choice. I don't know about them, but for me there is no choice I like women, I can't CHOOSE to like a guy.

If you have to go around telling everyone that you were born gay then it's obviously a choice. I'm straight and I don't go around telling everyone that I was born straight because it's a choice.

because when they the christians say being gay is a choice they can openly attack the person for being gay. they find ways to attack Pagans Atheists ect. by using fear tactics, guilt trips, and the infamous im christian youre not so you must be wrong. Not a true christian is just a catch phrase they use to confuse people. i say if someone calls themselves a christian and acts bad then they are still christian.

You know, it's funny: The same people who believe being homosexual is a learned behavior and therefore a choice are the same ones brought up and taught (a learned behavior) homosexuality is a sin. Interestingly, many species of animals including primates have members who exhibit same sex preference.
