God instills that feeling inside us, yet at the same time the devil tries to temps us to sin. If miracles involving God weren't true, why have they been talked about for centuries...but then again, for many of years many had thought the Earth was the center of our solar system.
God is real if you try to believe and go to a Cristian & hispanic church. Plus, humanity wants to believe a reason for death and can't seem to believe that after we die we do not exist. There must be some place we go for there is studies showing that there is a soul.
You are so intelligent I hope it does not go to waste and that you believe in God also.

It's a lack of faith in himself and in the human race. Man "wants" to believe that there "has" to be more to life than just being on this planet for 60-80 years.
What happens when we die...? The body rots and eventually turns to dust after the maggots get through with it. THAT'S IT!!!
Soul...? The human body has been dissected inch by inch and nobody has found anything resembling anything that could be considered
a soul. A soul... like God, is a figment of mans imagination and insecurities.

People fear what they cannot control. Having an all-powerfull god to worship gives them the illusion of control over events otherwise beyond they're control. Praying to, worshiping, or sacrificing to their god so he/she will bring them good fortune lets them feel more in control of their lives. They believe that they can cause things to happen just by pleasing this god and then asking him/her to do what they want.

Also, fear of what will happen if they don't worship their god keeps many people worshipping. Like the superstition that openning an umbrella indoors is bad luck. Almost no one actually believes that, but many people avoid doing it just in case. Religious leaders tell people that they will bring misfortune on themselves if they do not worship this god. They don't want an misfortune, so they just go along with it. Then they teach it to their kids, and over a few generations, everyone worships this god without questioning it at all.

For some it is instilled in them since childhood. It also gives some sort of explanation for the unknown, such as a place after death. People don't want to believe they will cease to exist.

God created all things by the Lord Jesus Christ. He gave us life why would we not wish to worship Him. He died for our sins, He was buried and took our sins away and He rose again the third day so we that believe and trust in him can stand just before Him. Ephesians 3: 9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

The knowledge of God's existence is built into humanity. Read the book of Romans in the Bible.

First, you have to realize and believe that God created mankind. Second, you must realize that He created us with this need to worship. When you realize all that He has done for you, you will have this need to worship God. For the love of Christ compels us.
