that only lowers your metabolism. you're much better off with six small meals throughout the day...a salad, a bowl of cereal, yogurt, etc.
this keeps your metabolism going, and even at 250 per meal that's only 1500 calories.

I just started following the advice of a program called Body for Life and working out first thing in the morning and not eating for an hour afterword. it's only been a few days but I'm already seeing the difference on the scale.

good luck, and remember the best way to keep off weight is to lose it the right way in the first place.

No, not eating but once a day will make you gain weight and mess with your metabolism. Your body will hold on to that little food that it does get even more and it will be harder to burn off in the long run. You have to eat several small portions throughout the day. Starving yourself will not work and you will be even more unhealthy.

ive done it on and off to loose them xtra pounds. it works but takes a toll on you. youll find that soon enough you can sit and eat a whole pizza cause you are so hungry. the best thing i can say is try the special k diet. basically eat special k cereal with skim milk for 2 meals lunch and breakfast is usually best and then eat a healthy dinner it works good about 2.5 pounds a week or more if you exercise.

I don't eat breakfast or lunch. Dinner is usually something that is healthy(ish). I work out 3 times a week. I've had great results, just make sure you take a protein shake before you work out or you will get weak really easily. I have lost 10lbs in 2 months and toned my muscles. I now weight 118lbs and feel great :)

that doesn't work
that shuts down your metabolism--and allows you to actually pack on more fat...
think of it this way...
you are in the wild, and there is a shortage of food--hence you eat one meal...your brain senses that there is a lack of food in the surroundings, hence shutting down your metabolism and stores primarily fat for long term usage. this creates the slower metabolism and the more stored weight...
on the other hand,
you are eating constantly--like 6 small meals a day (which overall, for example, equates to more or less the same caloric intake as that one meal)--that tells your brain that there is plenty of food in your surroundings--and your metabolism increases, allowing you to shed the body fat you have--since after all, you dont need it when your brain tells you that there is plenty of food around.

eat offensively, not defensively--and def not one meal a day--that will never work. good luck!
