The RLDS church, which has changed it's name to The Community of Christ is separate in many ways to the LDS church or the Mormon Church. Some of the core belief differences are very striking. One is the belief in the Godhead. The LDS doctrine is revolutionary stating that God the Father and Jesus Christ are both glorified men who have physical bodies. The Holy Spirit is the influence of the Godhead which is one in action but not in body. The Community of Christ(RLDS) Church however believes in the Trinity as does the rest of the Christian world. A triune spirit. Many other beliefs such as polygamy, priesthood power, and the line of succession also separate the two religions. The Community of Christ allow women to hold the priesthood, the LDS church does not. The Community of Christ disavowed polygamy saying that it was never authorized. The LDS church practiced polygamy until 1890. The Community of Christ believed that the line of prophethood should go through the sons of Joseph, while the LDS church believed that the line of prophets should go to the senior apostle in the quorum of the 12 apostles. There are many other differences that you can find by studying each of the churches official doctrines. As to Joseph Smith being a "False" prophet you'll have to search for evidence of that from other sources.

RLDS is the Re-Organized LDS church, they are totally different from the LDS church. They may have some of the same beliefs but that does not mean they are the same church. They believe the prophet of the church should only be a direct descendant of Joseph Smith, which LDS believe the prophet must be called of God, not just a descendant of JS. I am a Mormon (LDS) and RLDS is not affiliated with us.

I do not know your answer, exactly....but my understanding about the difference between LDS and RLDS, has to do with the patriarachal lines....the RLDS felt that the leadership of the church should be lineal...go from Smith to Smith to Smith....I thought...and the rest of the junk that Mormons believe is the same. I could be wrong....but that is what I had understood, many many moons ago, when I was LDS.

RLDS stands for Reformed Latter day Saints, they did follow all the same teachings of Joseph Smith, but when he was killed there was a group that thought the next prophet should be one of Joseph's descendants, and when Brigham Young was called to be the next prophet those people broke off from the rest of the Mormon church. as i understand it they do vary quite a bit now from the Mormon church in their beliefs than they did back then. LDS stands for Latter day Saints which comes from the official name for the Mormon church. The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day-Saints. Hope that this helps.

they don't have any courting presently. at the same time as Brigham youthful replaced into chosen because the subsequent prophet some felt the line of authority must have exceeded by skill of Joseph's relations strains instead and so some left the church and some thing proceeded on to Salt Lake Valley with President youthful. they have therefore thoroughly left in the back of only about each LDS doctrine they once observed and now renamed themselves besides - their new call is escaping me top this second, yet they now no longer call themselves RLDS.... oh - i'm able to't imagine of their new call ..... yet they enable women people to carry the priesthood, now no longer stick with the interest of knowledge and so on. So i imagine that is straightforward to assert they're thoroughly a distinct team now then the time they left the LDS church to commence their own. I trust that the sources they presently own is quickly to be offered from them through our church by way of monetary issues also they're experiencing.
