This is something you need to discuss with your physician. I suffer from motion sickness (vertigo) and mine gave me a great presciption. Regular over the counter stuff will not help if your problem is that severe. I almost died on a cruise...same effects as yours...the medication allowed me to enjoy myself the next go around.

Well, Dramamine does work but you must take it hours before you leave on your trip or it will not kick in. The other obstacle regarding Dramamine is that it basically takes a lot of the water out of your system so that you do not feel like throwing up or getting sick to your stomach! It does however cause wicked dry mouth and an overall feeling of being dehydrated. It also can cause severe drowsiness.
On the other hand, Gravol is a wonder drug!! The last I heard however, it was not available in the US. I obtained mine from Canada. You can take it at ANY time- before or after you are ill, it works within just a few minutes and there is absolutely no drowsiness or detrimental side effects!
Get some Gravol on line from Canada and have a FABULOUS trip!

ginger is the best remedy. The Discovery Channel show Mythbusters had an episode where they tested all sorts of remedies.

If you want to prevent motion sickness, please give us more info. Will you be riding in a car, on a boat, or riding roller coaters??

Its a terrible thing to expereince....I've had it since I was a little girl. I take medicine and wear the patch when I fly...I've never been able to sit backwards in a car or go on a carnival ride....I even get dizzy watching my son play racing or car games on his X-BOX......The good news....the medicines really do help.

Take Bromine or Benadryl one hour before you get on the flight. You will need to repeat the dose later. You will probably be very very sleepy.
