I would go get a second opinion from another vet. This doesn't sound good at all. If she is throwing up undigested food, she's not getting the nourishment she needs.
Maybe mix soft food and dry food together. Or maybe feed her teeny tiny amounts at a time.
Or maybe gradually switch to a different cat food?
Sorry I can't be of real help here with this one. I hope your little one is ok!

I have this problem with my Maine Coon. I tried smaller doses, and "spiking" the wet food w/ crunchies, it doesn't happen as often anymore but still occurs now & again. You did not mention if it is a long hair breed, if so, try so hair ball remedy, or, spike some vaseline w/ tuna juice (per my vet) to help those fuzzies pass through.
I switched to hair ball remedy cat food as well.
Good luck!

My cats do that when I haven't fed them all day. I usually keep their food bowl filled so they can nibble all day, but if I forget before I go to work and the bowl is empty by the time I get home, then they eat too fast and too much at one time and throw it up...Cats are snackers. Keep some dry food in the bowl at all times and they won't gorge and throw up.

I'd find a different Vet or try changing food. My cat is 4 and she loves Meow Mix. She shouldn't be doing that when she eats, it isn't even getting to her stomach.

It may be that she just isn't really chewing it. My cat does that every once in a while. She only does it rarely, so I've never been too concerned. Maybe wet food would be better in this case?

Try a different food! Our dog had digestion problems (but coming out the other end unfortunately) and finally (to help correct a different problem) I changed food.
Whola! Problem solved.

about the only thing you could do would be to feed the cat smaller amounts and more often. say a half a cup at a time.
