America is a democracy, of the people, by the people and for the people. Your 'Kings' are from a time that people were owned by thier gov't.

There is, almost every weekend, in cities across the United States. This is not meetings of any U.S. royals, but of the royals of the kingdoms of Atlantia, Trimaris, the East, the Middle, Caid, and several other kingdoms of the SCA.
The SCA is the Society for Creative Anachronism, a medieval re-creation group with kingdoms throughout the world. If you want a royal court, there you go. :)

It's one of the first things they teach you in history in elementary school. The pilgrims came to America from England to escape sovereign rule and religious persecution.
