if you like her and are looking to take her heart : make her something... a mixed CD, a photo album, paint a clear jar and put her favorite candy in it, etc... something she can tell you spent time on
If shes a really good friend: a picture frame with yalls picture in it, her favorite movie, something from an inside joke
if she just a so-so friend: something generic... a pretty picture frame or box... easiest thing: a gift card

You were right the first time when you called her a girl. She won't be a woman until she's 18, Sport.
Anyway, It's difficult to give a good answer w/o knowing your relationship to her. Are you her boyfriend, brother, father, friend, cousin?

get her something that suits her personality, if she likes to go shopping, get her clothes or perfume, if she likes sports, get her a volleyball net you know where im going with this dont you? if you've been with her long enough to know her than you should have a problem.
Most likely if she cares about you, she wont care what you give her as long as it's from you.
