Yes.
you have to consider two matters. If you mean only speakers by 'house speakers' your sound card must have a built-in amplifier. this will work, and most sound cards have, but unfortunately the built-in amplifier (on sound card) is not powerfull enough to produce sound for a party (or you may try it so see what you get).

if you have a home stereo system (or mini hi-fi component) you have no trouble, just you must have the suitable wire to connect sound card output to the stereo (using line-in or AUX input in stereo side and selecting the source).

if you have the wire connect and set the computer audio volume to middle. then use your stereo system volume in party.
to build a cord you will need a normal AV cable and an adaptor to connect on the side that connects to pc. this adaptor is an small plastic part have an rca connector on one side and two AV jacks on the other side.

have a good time ;)

Yes, but if you do it without an external amplifier, you're likely to fry your computer's sound circuit. An external amplifier is that thing with the volume knob that's already hooked up to your home speakers, if you have them. What you need to do is get a conversion cable that has a headphone type plug at one end, and a two plugs, one red and one white at the other. The small headphone end plugs into your computer. The plugs on the other end run to your amp. On the back of the amplifier, there will be many red and white connectors, you will want to pick an unoccupied one and connect the white to the white and the red to the red. Note which set of RCA jacks you plugged into, because you will need to set the amplifier to that particular setting, i.e. aux, cd, dvd, input 1, input 2, etc. After you plug it in, start the music up on your pc, turn the amplifier on, and switch it to whichever set you plugged into on the back, and adjust the volume accordingly (both the pc and the amp will control the volume).

It depends on the audio input on the computer and the output from the speakers. If the two aren't compatible, you might be able to buy adapters or 'turnarounds' to change it. If you're not sure what the inputs or output are called ( i.e. RCA or mini plugs) take pictures of each component and go to Best Buy or your local electronics store. There's a way to do it - but don't try it without having the right equipment.

The simple answer is No. Your home speakers are probably 8 ohm speakers and your sound card in your computer would never have enough power to drive them. Your best bet is a home theater system that has the power source built into the speakers.

Sure. Just go to Radio Shack and get a chord that has a 1/8 pin (an "eigth pin" - the little one like you would plug headphones into an Ipod with) and RCA connections on the other end (the red and white plugs like the ones that plug into your stereo. The eight pin would plug into the headphone jack on your computer's sound card (usually on the back) and the other end plugs into an open spot on your home stereo system.

Yes, it's all a matter of figuring out what kind of adaptors you need. The back of the computer will have a mini plug, that's where computer speakers go. From there you need to see what connection your speakers have.

Yes, it is possible. My cousin has his computer hooked up with his home stereo system and it sounds great. I think all you have to do is run speaker wire from your computer to your receiver and it should work.

yes, you have to make sure you have the right type of connections. i assume the computer has a mini and your speakers are just wire. buy a mini jack and hook that up to your speakers.

yes.

you should have a speaker outlet on your computer- usually a single audio jack. you'll need a cord that goes from one jack to a red/white jack and plug this into a reciever which will then pump the music through the house speakers.
