I have some Korean friends coming over and I wanted to prepare something very authentic. I know that in Korea they eat certain animals that we often think of as pets. Does anyone have a good recipe using the meat from a small house animal? I really want to show these people that I respect their culture and them.

If you have a neighbour such as I do who's cat uses YOUR yard for it's "sandbox", set a trap. Catch the cat, kill the cat, skin the cat, leaving the hide on the neighbours doorstep and proceed to marinate cat in a mix of soy, ginger, scallions, fish sauce and dragon tail oil. slice thin and stir fry with bok choy and serve with Kimchee.

There are many ways of showing respect for their culture without attempting something about which you know nothing.

Here's a selection of recipes which will impress your guests immeasurably: http://www.koreainfogate.com/taste/food/recipemain.asp

Why not choose one that would go well with a recipe of your own to make it a _shared_ cross-cultural experience.

Any Squirrel, rabbit, possum or raccoon recipe can be used substituting small dogs or rats. You might want to try turtle soup with tadpoles over wild rice. Don't forget the fish eye appetizers.
