okay i dont understand why people are ragging that book so much its just a book and dan brown says its based on true facts but guess what he didnt say it was all true did he now, and how do you that what he was saying isnt true, you know the bible is also a book that humans have written so what makes us think that everything in the bible is true any ways, why do people rag on things that may affect religion? even though it may just be their interpretation. just like christianity it has a lot of diversity so should we rag on each other because we believe in diffrent ideas that still lead up to the big picture?

okay alot of yall are saying the book is fake, false, fiction, well how do you know the bible is the truth? over time all stories are minuplated and rearranged, for example you tell one friend something and maybe a week or two later you here it and its been changed some how even by a little bit, now imagine that over hundreds of years, the people who wrote the bible didnt exactly carry around a pen and paper, it was years later that they put their actions and thoughts down. and who knows how many time the bible has been written over.

okay many of you keep saying that the danici code is fiction, yes maybe, when all the little FACTS are conjoined, so what makes the bible FACT not fiction, its a bunch of other books put together right written by story tellers.

The part about Constantine and the creation of Christianity is definitely true. Makes an interesting read.

wow! you seem to be pretty lost here. The bible hasn't changed from when it was first written. And history has proven the existence of the people in the Bible so that means it is not complete FICTION. Prophecies in the Bible have come true time and time again. Humans themselves can't tell the future. Those words are Gods words- random humans did not just make it up. And even the fact that some these humans, years apart, could have written the same exact happenings even though they probably were not even there could not have been made up.

Dan Brown's Book is a NOVEL- that means FICTION. So how can he say on the first page of his book: FACT? That is a serious thing. And we know a lot of the things he has said in that book is a whole load of rubbish mixed up with facts. And not only does he insult catholics, he puts the whole christian religion in jeopardy! And people believe those lies!

That's why its such a big deal.

Well for one, the bible truly isn't reliable for many real, proven historical facts (like the fact that a counsel decided what stories to put in the bible and which ones to leave out) along with the fact that it was written by humans anyways. I don't understand why disputing religion is such a bad thing anyways. I mean, I'm an atheist (which can be considered a religion, I guess), and there are movies that are against that all the time (like Passion of the Christ, for example). The story of the Da Vinci Code, though, wasn't actually based on reality, and it really didn't prove anything anyways. I mean, does having children really prove that somebody is not "the son of god" anyways?

Simple: One has stood the test of time. The other will be out of print before you know it.

By the way: Did you know that ever since the first Bible was printed , it has never been out of print?

The book is fiction. It's all made up. He based part of it on a fraudulent document from France that was exposed in the 70s. The society that Leonardo was supposedly the "Grand Master" of didn't exist until the 1950s. It's all done to sell books, both his and others.

No need to get worked up over something that isn't true.

Some people would say the same thing about the bible.

Because Dan Brown is much like Joseph Smith, mormans, and has spun the Bible out of context, and if Dan claims if he didn't, he is representing himself as a false prophet.
The scripture that he is using, was not accepted in the Bible and there is reason, alot of reasons, why, just as Joseph Smith was proven to be a fraud.
The Bible gospels are generated through the Holy Spirit and are the words from God. That is the major difference.

I truly believe that everything in the bible is true, although it was written by humans, I believe it was inspired by divine intervention. As for the book, I think some people just need something to fuss about. I did not read the book, but I did see the movie, it was an enjoyable movie, but it is obviously a "story". I think each person needs to decide for thierself what they believe, I personally live in the USA where we all have the freedom of religion, speech, etc. Our motto should be What would Jesus do, and Jesus would not and did not judge anyone. Thanks for letting me express my thoughts

I think you answered most of your question. Brown puts at the beginning of the book, that a lot of the things he mentions are true (mainly about the architecture and paintings and junk), he also says Opus Dei and the Priory of Sion are also real. Some people took this to mean that other parts of the book are true, no clear line was drawn. Christians are upset because the book claims that Jesus was not divine (not the son of God, but simply a man), and that contradicts the main belief of Christianity.

I don't know if it is true but I'm sure some of it is and some of it isn't. I really don't understand why people have such a problem with the book or others like it. people who don't like these books and think that they should be banned just lack confidence in their religion. they think that when people read it they will automatically renounce their faith without any research or anything and quite frankly if people are ignorant enough to drop their beliefs for a book in the fiction section then they aren't offering much to your religion or life in general.

Ok first off the da vinci code is an historical fiction. Key word there.. fiction, meaning made up in the imagination. the historcial fiction means that it takes a made up story and puts it in historical events that were true. At first the author kept trying to remind people of that, but than with people forgetting that fact and controversy surrounding the book and with sales starting to sky rocekt, he changed his tune and fed the controversy by saying it is true. Why? because controversy sells. But despite his motives, it is a historical fiction.
As for the later part of your question, people 'rag' on things that may affect religion because people who believes in certain religions tend to attempt to prove that religion and their beliefs are the "correct" ones. This is in almost every major religion out there, with people that take the desire, note not a need, but a desire, to prove to others that their beliefs are the right ones compared to someone else. The problem with this, is that they tend to forget the important part of their beliefs. It is their beliefs, and it matters to them. They, themselves, find a truth in it and practice and believe in the teachings of that relgion because they find truth somewhere in that religion. It is not important to prove to others that this religion is right compared to the other, but it is important to experience the wisdom, and truth that religion brings to you, personally.
That is not to say you can not have religous debates and discussions, but that is different than ragging on someones relgion or text, simply to rag on it, or by saying you are wrong, without having anything really to base that idea on it disagrees with what you believe. Religous and spirtual debates and discussions are fine, but one should show the proper respect to the other person and their beliefs, and the goal should not be to prove the other wrong, but to gain a deeper understanding of why, and what you believe.

The Da Vinci Code replaced into fiction. that is been preached over and yet back. Fiction. That replaced into what replaced into so humorous about some religions so dissatisfied about it. that's fairly like being dissatisfied over splendor & The Beast.
