we have all got kinks!!! mine is ladies in tights or stockings and heels etc. What's yours? and, when does a kink become a fetish? and, just because we have the odd (safe/moral/legal!!) sexual nuance (kink or fetish) does that mean we are sexual degenerates or worse?

A kink is just a strong preference for something. I am kinky because I like nylons, because they make me look good, and they feel good. its a strong preference, the bare leg would consider it a kink. I consider people who under all occasions have to wear open shoes and bare legs very kinky. Its not normal either.
A fetish comes when it replaces the sexual urges and has to be present in itself all the time. It becomes the end, and not the means. I like stockings as a means to look attractive and feel sexy enough to have fantastic sex. I don't worship the stockings, I just like my legs better in them. If the object becomes the end, you are deep into a fetish and probably in big social trouble, because a fetishist cannot have normal relationships with people. They worship the fetish.

You rightfully stated that we all have kinks and turnons. Its a healthy expression of sexuality providing they don't involve non-consenting parties, children, animals, injury or anything like that.
A kink becomes a fetish disorder when it completely replaces the human as the sexual object. For example, if you are merely turned on by ladies tights then its perfectly okay. If you depend on the tights 100% to reach sexual climax i.e. you need them present, or you have to fantasise about them, then it becomes a problem. In this scenario, the partner becomes depersonalised, and sex revolves around the object - not the person.
Fetishists usually have poorly developed social skills, and it is a condition which can be treated.

If we all have kinks, then we are all sexual degenerates? I think as long as your "kinks" are, like you said, safe, moral and legal, it's totally normal. If you spend hours a day obsessing or you rule out potential mates based on whether they wear stockings or not, or wear them yourself, then I would say it has become a fetish.

Mine is just a little kink, i love to keep my stockings, garterbelt and heels on during sex. I guess it would be a fetish if that was the main thing I was looking for, but it is just a preference, because I know I look better that way, than totally nude.

I have a fetish of seeing girl's panties up their skirts. It became a fetish when I would do my best to get a peek at a girl's panties without getting caught and I can't stop thinking about it when I get lucky.
