That's a GOOD one. I can't tell you where I read it but I did read that strenuous yard work and gardening - hoeing, shoveling, raking, lifting and loading can burn over 400 calories an hour. It was only beat out by sawing wood with a hand saw which burns 500 an hour if done pretty continuously.

i use this kraft foods calculator to help me out. it needs personal information such as your weight to determine the calories burned.i found gardening in there thought that is pretty much the same as yard work. hope it helps.as well you can have personalized meal plans made up for every week on there for you. give it a go.
