His chances of recovery can very well depend on two factors
1-where he was bitten
2-the ammount of time it took you to get him to the veterenarian.
Dogs are good at recovering from certain bites, this can also very well depend on the type of critter that poisened him.
Was it a snake bite? A spider? did he eat soemthing he shouldn't have?
With the symptoms and signs that you are describing, it very well seems like this is a serious situation. I would expect to get the worse part of this malady over in about 3 days or less. If no improvement occurs, perhaps its time to consider other alternatives with his vet.
Best wishes, and I hope he recovers soon.

Bless you and your doggie-I am so sorry! I am not a vet, but I believe it depends on what type of poison was used. So glad you got him right to the vet. The Dr. will try to ascertain what type of poison he ingested and take it from there-but first he may be utilizing some "universal" antidotes. Here hoping the person or people who did this will be found out and punished asap. May St. Francis, patron saint of the animals, comfort you and your pet.

If you got him to the vet in time, he can recover. Sounds like he ate a hemorrhagic rat poison that causes internal bleeding. The vet will give him vitamin K to help his blood clot normally again. He may also need a transfusion. How well he recovers depends on how big he is, how much of it he ate and how much blood he lost. Good luck - I hope he makes it!

Unfortunately we can't answer this. You need to consult with your veterinarain. Dogs can recover with proper care from poisons, if you caught it in time and the best care is provided at a veterinary clinic.
I hope the dog comes thru. Take care. . .

Well right now he's probably on an IV and depending on what he was poisoned with they will have him on different antibiotics or inhibitors. Do you know what he was poisoned with?
