NUTS - almonds, cashews, peanuts. Get some basil pesto - Bartolli's is good and available at WalMart with the pasta and sauces. It is made of olive oil, ground walnuts, and herbs and is DELICIOUS spread on a good bread. Hummus is a dip/spread made from garbanzo beans, tahini (sesame seed oil - thick and rich) and spices. Put that on veggies and breads. Don't listen to the people who tell you to indulge in desserts. The refined sugar is poison and will totally screw up your adrenalin regulation and metabolism. Dark chocolate in moderation is one you can keep on the list.

whey protein is the way to go
and plenty of rest
also when you lift--go for 5 sets of 6-8 heavy weights
dont do the 3x15 or 3x10
lift as heavy as you can and eat...A LOT
i, too have a fast metabolism but have been slowly and steadily gaining muscle mass without losing fitness
good luck!

Instead of trying to pack in a big lunch; try adding a pre-and post lunch snack or protein shake, something rich in nutrients not empty calories.

How about a wholesome sandwich?
Whole grain bread for fiber
Slices of avocado for heart healthy fats
Chicken breast for protein
Lettuce and tomatoes for the goodness of veggies
Mustard to top it off
Fruit smoothie made with skimmed milk for some calcium.
Don't load up on artery-clogging fats to gain weight, focus on heart-healthy fats, whole grain foods and up your protein intake as you do lift weights. Lean protein, heart-healthy fats (from nuts, fish, avocadoes) and whole grain carbs are the way to go.

if you're trying to build muscles, try muscle milk. it's a protein shake that some of my friends use. they say it really works. you can get them at gnc. i think they have a lot of calories, too.
