How long does it take to process an Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status? I just sent the application about 3 weeks ago and want to know when we will hear an answer.

This is based on a K-1 (fiance/marriage)visa.

You should get your receipt notices in 3-6 weeks. Currently marriage based adjustment cases are taking roughly 10-14 months from filing date to interview date.

This can take anywhere from months to years. it is said that if you were married to an American Citizen it can take from 3-6 months. You're looking at maybe years if not through a citizen spouse. if by sponsor of a siblings possibly 5-7 years.
