It's really hard to say because Jazz musicians do so much better overseas than in the states. If I had to hazard a guess I'd say:

Wynton Marsalis (trumpet)
Dave Brubeck (Piano)
Chick Corea (Piano)
Anthony Braxton (Sax)
Dianne Reeves (vocals)
Dianne Schuur (Vocals)
Pat Martino (Guitar)
Keith Jarrett (Piano)
Stanley Clark (Bass)
Pat Metheny (Guitar)

This list is, of course debateable and you would get a different list from any person you ask.

Guitars: Pat Methany, Larry Carlton, Phil Keaggy.
Bass: Stanley Clarke (and yes) Paul McCartney
(listen to 'Something' off of Abbey Road).
Piano: George Winston, Lyle Mays.
