Will getting a perm help?

no getting a perm will damage your hair.....get ur hair trimmed every 6 months and try the V05 hot oil treatment once a month

You can take some hair vitamins. they are called Fast grow from exotic allure. They help your hair grow healthier, longer and faster I've just started using them myself and i' ve heard great reviews from my friends.
Getting normally straightens hair so your hair may appear longer but if not done properly can also damage your hair.
