Watermelon is excellent. Great for refreshing yourself on a hot day. some good vitamins i it too.
Nutritious and has fiber.

Yes watermelon is great to eat when on a diet it has 50 calories a cup and 155 or so in one slice. Here is a website with how many calories are in different fruits. Also, Watermelon is an ideal health food because it doesn't contain any fat or cholesterol, is high in fiber and vitamins A and C and is a good source of potassium.

130 grams of carbohydrates, which gives energy,
and vitamin C, but less so than other fruits, especially the citrus family.
You can get more calories from a banana, if that's what you're looking for. Pasta is also very good for that.

Watermelon is a good fruit, as it is low on calories. A bowl full is mostly water with a little sugar and less than 200 calories.

It is good anytime, especially ice cold.
As for calories:
1.0 cup, balls has 46 calories
1.0 NLEA serving has 84 calories
10.0 watermelon balls has 37 calories
1.0 wedge (approx 1/16 of melon) has 86 calories
1.0 melon (15" long x 7-1/2" dia) has 1355 calories
1.0 cup, diced has 46 calories

Find one that's a more yellow in color and it'll be more sweeter in taste. It's very low in calories. This is one whole sample:
