Christianity in the name of God, but not by God's will.

That's easy...Christianity, specifically Catholicism. Rember the Spanish Inquisition? How about all three Crusades? Then there was the Reformation period where there was LOTS of dissent from the church (from Martin Luther and others), which caused even more deaths.

Generally speaking, in modern times, you have a range of over-zealous fruitcakes that (and there's NO IRONY IN THIS) bomb abortion clinics to kill doctors and nurses - people they say are taking lives...

Timothy McVeigh supposedly had strong religious convictions that, in combination with his other extremist views, fed into his confidence, empowering him to bomb the Oklahoma City Federal Building.

Sadly, the list goes on and on, getting longer with each day...

I am amazed at how many people said Christians when it was definitely not the Christians but the Catholics and there is a big difference. If you don't believe it start studying the Bible (even the Catholic Bible) and compare it to the beliefs of Catholics (The Catechism). If anyone would look at it they would see that Catholicism is definitely not Christianity. Anyway, my vote for most people killed by... the Catholics!

Cristianity is probably the number one. Between the Crusades, the Inquisition, wars between Catholics and Prodistants, whitch hunts, ect. This religion founded by a pacifist has killed a lot of people (rather ironic, no?).

Unfortunately, I think Christianity is the one. At least, in the early centuries. It's probably a close tie with the Islamic religion.

Everyone assumes it's Christianity, but I can't just agree with that. Judaism is filled with military conquests. Yeah, read the Old Testament. And Islam? Hey, Muhammed spread his religion through war and financed it by raiding caravans.

I'm not sure if more people have killed in the name of 'Jesus' than in the name of 'Allah,' but those who kill in the name of Christianity are acting against the example of its founder, and those who kill in the name of Islam are following the example of its founder.

well the catholic church killed more witches vampires and werewolves than Nazi Germany killed Jews if that helps. I would say Christianity. They are the only ones that travel and try to convert everyone. ask the Indians.
