I am going to have a party and would like to make some Jello shots. How do you make them? Can you use any alchohol? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Serious answers only please~ Thanks

You can really get creative with these! Dissolve your Jello in the boiling water just like the package says, but instead of adding cold water after the Jello is dissolved, substitute liquor for all or part of the cold water depending on how strong you want your shots. If the box calls for 1 cup of boiling water and 1 cup of cold water, instead of 1 cup of the cold water, use maybe 1/2 cup of alcohol and 1/2 cup of water, or 3/4 cup of alcohol and 1/4 cup of water, or 1 cup of all alcohol. You pretty much can use any alcohol you want. Nowadays, they've got some great flavors of Jello and liquor, and you can really go crazy. For example, there are flavored vodkas and rums that you can mix with different flavors of Jello to try and mimick your favorite drink. You can get Lime Jello and mix with tequila and triple sec. for a margarita flavored shot. Or strawberry jello and tequila for strawberry margarita. Coconut rum is good, but it's weak so mix it with regular rum or vodka for some added kick (Maybe 1/2 cup of each instead of the cold water). Most Jello shots I've had are made with Vodka. You can't go wrong with that. But if you want to get crazy, experiment. What's the worst that can happen? They don't taste as good? So what. After a couple of shots, it won't matter anyway. Get some disposable plastic shot cups. I get them from a local bar supply store, and they come with lids so it's really easy to stack them in the fridge. If you're counting calories, use sugar free Jello. It's not as good as the regular, but it's pretty close.

Jello shots are easy to make and simple, provided you have some cups to put them in. Best to find short plastic portion cups, if they come with lids even better.
The alcohol you use should work well with the jello flavor so decide what taste you are looking for....
To make them just use the recipe on the box of 'Jello' and instead of the required cold water substitute the flavor of alcohol you like, and continue following the recipe.
Once the jello liqyid is blended pour it into the portion cups, about 3/4 full , put on the lids and chill........if you are unable to get lids put all the filled cups in a cake pan and cover with plastic wrap. Now party like a rock star!

Note sometimes they will stick in the cups, but some of the fun is licking & sucking them out!!

Here ya go... They are good! Can I come to your party?!!

Jello Shots

6 ounces Jello (large package)
16 ounces Water (boiling)
6 ounces Water (cold)
10 ounces Vodka
Mix the jello mix with the boiling water until the powder is fully dissolved and add the cold water and alcohol. Pour the cooling mixture into either shot glasses or paper cups. Shot glasses are more attractive, but drinker can turn the paper cups inside-out to more easily eat the alcoholic jello.

The best alcohol to use in my opinion is Vodka
I have never used any other, but have had them that other ppl made with rum.

Just follow the directions on the box- for a small sized box it is 1 cup boiling water-then dissolve the jello with wisk- then add 1 cup cold water. INstead of the water, use cold liquor, 1 cup. The bigger sized boxes have different measurements. Do not go more than half liquor, they will not gel right.

DO NOT GET SUGAR FREE- IT IS SOOOOO GROSS.

I also went to Gordon Food Service (GFS) or any restaurant supply house and get the 2 oz solo cups and the lids. I am not sure on the 2oz, could be 1.5 oz. sizes...look around but make sure they have lids

Then you can cover them and toss them in the fridge & not worry about them spilling on you. Makes for easy transport too.

Basic recipe:
1 6oz box jello
2 cups hot water

Vodka works with any flavor
Gin works well with lime
Tequila also works well with lime
Rum works well with strawberry
Also sometimes using juice instead of hot water is awesome.

my ex-roommate used to make jello shots all the time--
substitute some of the water in the recipe with vodka
she used to use half water/half vodka and they were really strong, but after a few you're so drunk you can't taste them anymore

BASIC JELLO SHOT MAKING DIRECTION

Ingredients & Methods:

6 ounces of spirits

6 ounces water

3 ounces Jello (small box, any flavor)

3 ounce Dixie PAPER Cups

Pour the water and vodka into a saucepan and raise it to a boil.

Stir in the jello and make sure it totally dissolves.

Put the jello liquid into a pitcher for easier pouring.

You'll need to pour the jello into the small Dixie cups.

If you let the jello sit in the refrigerator in one big bowl then the vodka will separate and you'll have some crappy shooters. (Use the little cups!)
Let them chill in the refrigerator for about 5-6 hours
Use paper cups, you can tear them open to get the Jello
Watch the Jello liquid carefully, it boils over fast
Make sure you have lots of space in the refrigerator
Allow plenty of time, it takes awhile
Speed things up by doubling quantities: 12 oz vodka, 12 oz water, 2 small boxes of Jello (or 1 large box)

To give you an idea of quantities:
20 small Jello boxes (3 ounces/each)
2 handles of vodka (half gallon/each)
400 Dixie Paper Cups (3 ounce size)
