For hard boiled eggs:

Place eggs in a pot, and fill with water to about 1 inch above eggs. Place on burner and turn on to high. Set the timer for 10 minutes, and after the timer goes off, let the eggs sit in the pan for 5 additional minutes (remove the pot from the burner first to stop the boiling). They'll be perfectly cooked and the yolks won't be gray/green.

Fill the pot with water and put the eggs in. Bring to a boil, cover and turn off the heat. Let them sit for about 15-20 minutes and they'll be fine.

if you are going for hard boiled, boil the egg for ten minutes, drain the water and fill with cold water (this helps to make the shell brittle) for about five minutes. Good luck with that egg!

Put your eggs in a pot of cold water, bring to a boil, cover the pot and turn off the heat. Let the eggs sit for 20 minutes in the pot, then drain, and peel. Perfect hardboiled eggs!
