Sometimes premature graying is genetic and sometimes it is Vitamin B deficiency since vitamin B helps with the pigmentation of the hair.
FYI; actually the hair is not gray or white it is clear but the reflection of the light makes it look that way to the naked eye.

Some people younger than 40 have grey hairs as well. Look at Taylor Hicks (29), American Idol Winner. He already has a full head of grey hair. It's just genetic and sometimes stress - or both.

No just at 40. In my family most start in late 20s. My Grandmother was totally grey by her late 20s.

Some people's hair begins to grey earlier than others. Mine started when I was in my mid 20's. My husband is 56, and his is just now starting to turn grey.

Some people who are in their twenties get grey hairs. It's most likely due to genetics. It can also be a result of severe stress or trauma.

I've notice that people in their 20's are getting grey hair. I think it's something in the food.
