if you are reffering to when Moses brought down the Ten Commandments?
it was 3,000 were swallowed by the earth because of their sin.
the day of Pentecost when The Holy Spirit was Given 3,000 were saved when grace was poured out.

Your information is wrong, they didn't kill each other, the ground swallowed them up, so it was God who rid the disease from the body.
