You should get a tetanus booster every 10 years. So, if you've had one recently, you may be ok. However, often health insurance companies won't pay for having a tetanus booster, w/o some sort of cause. So, you may want to check with your dr. If you're due for one, it may be a great way to get it, just in case. Also, just an FYI, you can tetanus from oysters, too.

I read that it is not necessary to be vaccinated in such a case. You can simply allow the cut to bleed and clean it, then tetanus would be unable to survive.

you should get a booster tetanus shot if it has been more than 10 yrs since your last booster or original shot. no need for a shot if less than 10 yrs.

Tetnus shots are to be given every 5 yrs max.If u have not had one in 5 yrs or are not sure when u had a shot last, u should seek medical attention.

Yes, if you have not had one in the past 10 years. I've heard some people say 7 so if it's been longer, call your doctor.
