I used to quite a lot, but not really anymore. I'm on antidepressants. There is usually always a cause for depression...mine was caused by sever stress I believe. But if you get depressed because something tragic happened in your life you would really benefit from seeing someone about it.
I highly recommend medication though. After depression goes on too long, your serotonin stops being produced (it is a hormone that tells you to be happy.) And the medication tells your brain to start reproducing that hormone again.
I'm sorry to say that medication is the only thing that makes me feel better, but if it goes on too long then no matter what you do or others do to try to cheer you up, it will not work because your brain will not produce what you need to realize you should be happy.

Everyone feels depressed some of the time. It's good to have some sort of outlet, like a journal, or just a good friend to talk to. I have always had problems with depression and I just write everything out in a journal, and I am always talking to my boyfriend. I have managed to stay off any medication, and I feel as though that is a good thing.

Ultimately, you can't keep everything pent up, you have to let it out, or it will eat you from the inside and possible cause bigger problems than just depression.

Everyone feels depressed from time to time. The only people who never feel are those that are dead...

The only time you should worry about your depression is if it is interfering with your daily functions. Losing great amounts of sleep, or weight, or gaining a lot of weight. Or if you're planning to kill yourself or hurt yourself, etc.

It helps to figure out why you are feeling depressed. Have you lost somebody, feel guilty for something, are stressed out, etc. And then it helps to talk to someone you can trust AND who will listen.

This is not a good time to use drugs or alcohol because you will be more vulnerable to addiction during this time.

Yes,I do.I think that everybody does. I just think to myself: In every wrong there is something good. Always look on the bright side of life. There is light at the end of the tunnel. After rain, sun will shine. You know what I mean? I try to get over it to sucseed,it is for my own good.I listen to some good song that will motivate me to move on.But,the real motivation comes from inside of you, your desire to fufill your dreams.I just look around and see that there are people that apreciate me and what I do,so that gives me strenght to move on. Hope that helps you,and I am sure that it ain't all that black. Good luck! ♥

yes sometimes. I went thru a bad stage and finally had to go to a doctor. I did not want to admit that I needed a Dr, but It really helped. I take nerve pills to relieve stress. I have to check my blood pressure sometimes( i am not on meds). When I feel a panic coming on, i can talk to myself and others. It has helped me a lot. good luck. we all feel down sometimes. stress, jobs, bills and relationships are hard at times. hang in there.
