Yes, that really bothers me. My daughter is a very smart and sweet person. She chooses to dress in big baggy jeans, black t-shirts, skull and crossbones necklace etc. I see people look at her like she is trouble, when she is one of the sweetest kids.

If all one has to go by is appearance, than what else do you expect a person to do? If I see someone walking down the street and they appear one way, I am going to see them that way. If I get to know them and find that they are different from my impression it will change the way I think about them.
The human brain works by putting things into categories. EVERY BRAIN DOES IT. The people who say they don't make judgments are lying to you, if not to themselves, out of shame.
You can deal with that knowledge in one of 2 ways:
1. Appear how you are most comfortable appearing but understand that you will be judged on your appearance initially, and that you will have to prove yourself to be something beyond your image.
2. Present yourself the way you want society to perceive you, but know that it is only a first impression, and that peoples' opinion of you will change if you prove their first ideas of you to be wrong.

Sorry if you don't like my answer, but I always tell the truth.

Yes I hate that too. Appearances Do tell us some things about someone. When everyone is expected to fit some cookie cutter mold.....all being the same size, skin color, ethnicity, eduaction level, politics, etc..........there is evil happening there for sure. A certain amount of differences make life and human interactions interesting and valuable. If everyone was the same, all conversations would be pointless and boring at best.

Everyone judges others on appearance in some form or another whether it is in a bad way or a good way. You would be lying if you said you didn't.

Yes I do because appearance isn't everything. I'm married to a guy that everyone thinks is drop dead ugly, but I think he's hot because he's kind on the inside and that's what I've been looking for in a guy.

yes. I hate people like that. if you are overweight you are automatically looked at as lazy, food obsessed, sick, freak. When really they dont know you and for all they know, you could be on a diet and have already lost 50 pounds. people are cruel and judge everyone from religion, body type, race, sex, clothing, ect. it is wrong.

I try to see people for their personality. If someone goes on appearance only , they could miss out on a good friend.

Unfortunately appearance is all we have to go on right now--thousands of years of being hunter-gatherers has taught us if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then 9 times out of ten it is a duck, but that one time it might be a Swan.

You can't judge a book by it's cover is so true. If most would only take the time to open it and read a few pages they just might be surprized... Have good day! ^_^
