You may have to upgrade your DVD player. Not all players will accept burned dvds. Usually the lower end (priced) models won't.

Well if you have an dvd player thats a couple years old it won't play burned dvds, you have to get a new dvd player to play the burned dvds, but if you have a ps2 it should play the burned dvd for you.

Well you have to make sure that your DVD player will play burned CD's anyways you may want to check the book that came with your DVD player and see if it says its a DVD+R/ +R or DVD-R/ -R I know sony puts one out because we just recently bought one to play ours on so you have to check and see if thats what you have if not go to the store and look for the DVD like yours or ask someone who may know there at the store. Hope this works for you and Good luck.

You may not be able to. I have a Sony DVD player that won't play burned DVD's. I had to go out and get a little cheap dvd player just to watch my burned movies.

It all depends on your particular DVD burner and player. Read the manual for your DVD player to find out if the format in which you burned the DVD is readable by the DVD player. ( DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-ROM) There are a whole range of burn formats today so break out your reading glasses and get started. If for some strange reason your DVD player is not compatible with any of the burn formats of you DVD burner, you'll have to replace one of the two (preferably the cheaper one) and find a compatible mate.
The source page I've listed describes in so much more detail for you. Good Luck!

Use your DVD recorder to convert the DVD into DVD-video. I had that problem but when put in this format, the DVD will play in most players.

It depends on your DVD player and what kind of media your burned on. Some players can play DVD+R (I believe this is a Panasonic standard.) and some others play DVD-R and some play both. So try and see which one is supported by your player.

It all depends on which dvd format your dvd player supports.
DVD formats come in atleast 6 forms:
+/- R;
+- RW;
+/- RAM;
You need to first find out in which form you burned your dvd. DVD media type will give you that answer e.g. it's +RW. Now lookup the manual of your player to find if the format is supported.
If it's supported then as soon as you put in your DVD in the player the load operation should suceed. You are good to go then.
