First of all, it depends on age, and past experiences. If you're under the age of 25, then guys really don't want to make a commitment to one woman. I know, this sounds horrible, but guys like to believe they can get any woman any time. Also, if a guy has had his heart stomped on before, then he will have trouble making a commitment. When a guy makes a commitment in a relationship, he usually puts it all out on the line. He gives you his heart, he spoils you with whatever you want becasue he is so in love you. Then one woman can ruin it all by breaking his heart, because next time around he will try not to let a woman in close, because he is afraid of getting hurt. Men don't make commitments, because they are protecting themselves again the pain and anguish they have felt in the past. Kind of like when a kid touches a hot stove, he never touches a hot stove agian becuase it hurts!

The "C" word usually refers to committment from women, but in men the "C" word refers to Chemistry or Connection, for men.There are differences between men and women though.
Here are a few reasons why we don't "committ" ourselves:.
When we have open communication with a woman, that builds trust. If we don't feel like she is receptive or holds back whenever there is a conversation, that makes us stand up and take guard. We are not as open then.
Of course, we want trust in a relationship. Trust allows genuine friendships to develop too. We have to feel like we are accepted with all of our faults and we need women to appreciate that we are not perfect. We can't multi-task well, and we don't cook the right foods or at all, and we can't do laundry when it requires more than one task to do at the same time. A Genuine friend realizes this and supports us, no matter what. A Genuine friend is always there for us, and never judges us on every word we say . A Genuine friend never asks for anything in return except Respect, Caring, Sharing, Appreciation, and Unconditional Love in return.
We are not evil or sadistic. We are just complex. Women are emotional, men take time to develop their emotional sides over a lifetime and that isn't always easy. Understanding our needs and not being selfish about it takes a genuine heart too.
These days, it is difficult to find the right mate. Both men and women seek the same type of person but never can quite get it right. Divorce rates scare us. Divorce is reality though. Those of us who are not yet divorced or have been married live through a barrage of uncertainity, rejection and even heart-ache before we find the right woman that "Connects" with us.
Be Patient. Have Faith. Allow every new person who enters your life a fair and equal chance to get to know your heart and mind, and there will always be a willing man there to greet you with open arms.

Most of the time we are afraid to commit because we have been burned badly in a previous relationship. That will make anyone a little weary.

Most men who are affraid of commitment are denying that they have found the right woman. They alos are used to playing games with women and are in a habbit so to speak.

not all men are, and just as many women are as there are men. so why these people are afraid i have no idea. im totally ready for commitment. im just too shy and afraid that nobody would want me.

Men are biologically designed to try to en-pregnate as many women as possible to ensure the continuation of human race.

it's the same for women and men. they feel there's more out there for them. and especially if they are happy with themself and have lots of confidence. its hard for those kind of people to settle down and when they find the one they want to spend the rest of their life with it usually fails... cause what goes around comes around.
