What is just as funny - are the drive-up fast food windows that have the menu in Braille.

Its because to not have braille at the drive up, the ATM makers would have to spend more money to make a machine to make an ATM without braille, its just cheaper to use the standard ATM

It is not that the blind drive up and use these keypads with the braille. It is because it is easier to make them all alike at one time with the braille dots on them, than produce another lot without braille dots. It is a cost effective measure by the people who makes the atm keypads.

You should consider that most ATMs have the same buttons, whether drive up or otherwise. If you had to manufacture tens of thousands of buttons for ATMs in your factory, would you go through the trouble of setting up completely different machines to make buttons without braille just for the drive up ATMs? Probably not.

It was mandated by the government in the ADA so banks had to do it. And a blind passenger in a car might use an atm from a drive-up if he was sitting in the back on the driver's side.

now and again human beings walk as a lot because the stress-via ATMs. also a blind human being will be in the backseat of the vehicle, and the driving force can pull up somewhat better so the ATM is accessible from the backseat. merely my opinion.
