here's what I cannot reconcile. If God's plan was that Jesus die for our sins, then Judas did exactly what Judas was SUPPOSED to do. Why is he reviled, when our religion HAPPENED because he made it happen?

so, God based his plan on this one guy's choice, turning Jesus over to the Romans. This is the way God wanted it. So, Judas was doing what God wanted. God's will? He was doing God's will, and we're supposed to hate him?

The Bible says that some are created to honor, some to dishonor, but all serve God. We will see Judas in heaven.

Jesus and God chose Judas (and the other Apostles) knowing in advance their character. They didn't make him the way he was. God doesn't NEED bad people; if people weren't bad there would have been no need for Jesus to die in the first place. But since there are such people, God can use their predictable nature to bring about desired events (the same way he uses Satan and used Pharaoh).

BTW, since Judas did not yet have the holy spirit IN him (John 14:17), it is probable that he will have a chance at repentance in the second resurrection (Revelatin 20:11-13).

i think God can always use people wrong doing to become part of His plan or will so His plan can be completed...Even Jesus do warn that someone maybe selling Him, if Judas wish to change his mind? i think he may still have that chance.

But no matter it is God's will or not for Judas to perform such a task? OR maybe we shouldn't say God's will, we should say it is God allowed to happen, cost two are totally different kind of permission.

God's will is something that God trying to make it happen and if God allow then it is something that God know it will happen, but He can see the possibilities that the related issue can fit into His plan, then He allowed it.

But sadly, no matter Judas is doing what God's will or allowed or on his own, i think he has chosen a bad ending for himself, which is killed himself...you know? when you listen to the devil in the end, you killed yourself? you go to hell, that will be a never changeable thing...As God may judge him not according for he has sale Jesus, cost no matter how Judas do return all those gold, that mean he is not that bad....BUT, he still listen to the devil.

So i believe the key is there, it is how Judas choose to really repent OR he continue to follow the footstep that the devil has planned for him.

Christians also believe in free will .... that individuals have a choice, and should choose the "good" path over the "evil" path. Becuase of this, Judas had a choice, and did what he did of his own will, not God's. This is why Judas is reviled.

He is reviled because he helped the plan to kill Jesus; the fact that he was 'destined' to do it is irrelevant because everyone has a free will. The plan would have gone on with or without Judas. You are right to say that he was 'supposed' to do it in a way, but he also killed himself because of it which many Christians (including myself) believe is the ultimate sign of a lack of faith. I don't know if that makes any sense, but there you go. :-)

You are thinking to much:) Yes it may seem as if he did his job, but even though God knows all things he gives us a will so that maybe we can change the outcome that he sees. You read on in the Bible, Judas wanted to change what he had done in the end, but it was to late. And for the record he didn't help form the religion

Finally, someone who understands some of the thoughts that vex me day after day. Many seem to hate him for doing what god wanted him to do. Even in the Passion of the Christ, putting aside the anti-semitism, it viewed Judas as a man visited by the devil because, gasp, he helped create the Christian religion. God forbid, eh?

Let's see..Judas was an unrepentant thief, (John12:4) who pretended to be a disciple of Jesus. He was an easy target for the devil to plant betrayal in his heart. For money, he handed over a righteous man (someone who never sinned, God's Chosen Messiah/anointed one) to his enemies. This was deliberate, pre-meditated.

God can read the heart. He obviously knew that Judas would not genuinely repent.

The bible does not say he will go to heaven, it says he deviated to go to his own place; Acts 1:25. Jesus said at Matt. 26:24 ..'but woe to that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed. It would have been finer for him if that man had not been born.'

Imagine working with Jesus for 3 1/2 years, watching his miracles, proving he is God's Son, then partaking in his destruction?..'Woe to that man through whom he is betrayed.' (Luke 22:23b)

Jesus told Pilate that the man who handed him over, (Judas) had the greater sin; John 19:11.

People are only human. As humans, we are weak. We need someone to blame, and there is Judas, all ready for us. What we can't see, is the Judas in each one of us.

I agree with the guy who believes we will see Judas in heaven.

because people made it that way. For many centuries christians have hated and reviled romans, and jews alike for the same reason. Its stupid I know. Things happen according to God's plan and we should spend less time fussing about who did what and just beleive.
