you parents have to sort out their problems themselves. In my house, my husband and I have a rule that neither of us OWNS anything, it's a partnership and we share everything, no matter who actually bought it.
So your in my mind you dad can take away whatever he wants from his wifes computer...although it seems a little childish
and for #2
yes, your parents can take away whatever they want. They are your parents, so until you move out..they have the control

A.1. If your dad removes or damages parts of your mom's computer, it is wrong, and she can use it as grounds for divorce or legal action if she chooses. Or she can get even by damaging his personal property, which is 2 wrongs making a right.
A.2. He can take it away temporarily, but he shouldn't take it for his own use or sell/damage it, since you paid for it. You should discuss with him the terms of why he's taking it and how you can get it back.
I agree with most above answers, except the very critical ones. Yes the dad seems controlling, but we only have the kid's side of things to go on. Some family, or at least marital, therapy/counselling may be in order to resolve various issues or disagreements, and also to help set rules that all parties can agree to abide by.
Best of luck in your difficult situation!

Your father has the right to take away the NINTENDO DS, due to the fact that he is your father, so he has the final say over you. However, he shouldn't take away the computer parts unless your mother is very addicted to it, then he is probably doing it fir her own good :)

Q1: Sounds like your father has control issues and should attempt to talk to your mother about her usage of the new toy and why it bothers him instead of taking things away.
Q2: As long as you are a minor, I'm sorry but life sucks and your father can do whatever he feels is necessary to help you become a well rounded person...sorry! Just bust out when you are 18...

1: Are you parent's divorced? Technically, if they're not, and he paid for it all, I guess he couldn't touch it. But I believe a marriage contract makes everything they purchase a joint purchase, so that might be wrong, they might have equal rights to it.
2: If you are a minor, even if you bought it with your money, he probably has every right to do whatever he wants with it. Listen to your parents, and trust that everything they do is for your own good, no matter how pissed it makes you. You'll see that when you grow up.

Your dad will take it away if you bought it or not.........he is still your dad and will use that power if he thinks it is harming you.(like your flunking out of school or not sleeping enough because your playing)
as for your mom, she is her own person and he has no right or control over what she does.

Your dad is controlling and stupid and manipulative, you guys need to straighten him out. He need help.
Secondly, the nintendo is yours. Noone elses. Like I said, your dad needs help. He wants to see no one happy. This is the sign of a sick mind.
