"The DaVinci Code" is a novel and therefore it's a work of fiction. Having said that, I would also say there is always a kernel of truth in everything no matter how false it seems. There is no real reason to believe everything or to doubt it all either. If your faith is strong, the story should pose no kind of threat to you.

I don't see what all the fuss is about anyway. I have an open mind about it. It's well known that the church has worked hard to change history to their own point of view, so it may be that what Dan Brown has written may very well be true. Nobody really knows. But it's a great book and an entertaining movie and it has given people something to think about and discuss and that can never be a bad thing.

In college I majored in art history and minored in religion. Even the most basic facts, like the location of the Louvre in relation to the American Embassy, are incorrect. If you're looking for hard facts, look elsewhere. The Da Vinci code is a decent suspense thriller but light on the facts.

Of course not. Dan Brown's interpretation of Leonardo's paintings and of mystical and occult symbols is unheard of. A true novelist, a.k.a. liar.

It's incredible what the human mind can come up with and invent in order to sell an idea.

Absolutely not. Dan Brown is a very good author but it is a work of fiction with a smattering of facts and a whole lot of theoretical supposition.

Actually, most of it indeed has basis in historical fact. At least it exists in documents. Whether or not it is true is another matter. :) If it is all lies, it is based on lies that are as old as the organized Catholic Church itself.
