remove all but the innermost layer of husk - the layers of husk have moisture inside that will freeze and cause burns on the corn. you can then stick them in a freezer ziploc and freeze for up to three months. it's best if the ears are vacuum-sealed (no freezer burn) so i also wrap the corn in saran wrap, then put it in the ziploc and freeze.
leaving the last layer of husk protects the corn from freezer burn.

My companion's mom lives in Illinois additionally. whilst i became traveling her a pair of summers in the past, we stopped on the kinfolk farm and picked luggage of unpolluted candy corn -- perhaps 3 dozen ears. So I have been given a important sort of freezing journey in that one holiday. right this is how we did it: one million. First get rid of the corn from the husk & wash the ears -- removing the stalk, tassles/strings, bugs... (eww!) 2. Then cut back the kernels off the cob utilising a pointy knife. i'm specific your electric knife will artwork super. 3. positioned the kernels in a super pot, then upload some million/2 cup granulated sugar and a pair tablespoons of salt (you are able to alter the quantities). Then upload purely adequate water to cover the corn... mixture all of it at the same time. 4. deliver it to a boil, and proceed boiling the kernels till they start to get mushy. This basically takes a couple of minutes; so make specific to maintain a watch on them. in step with how plenty corn you're boiling, i might say no better than 3 or 4 minutes. additionally, you do no longer might desire to cover the pot. 5. do no longer drain (there should not be too plenty water final in the pot)... unfold the kernels on a cookie sheet or pyrex dish to calm down. 6. as quickly as cooled, spoon the kernels into freezer luggage with particularly of the water. Then stack the luggage in the freezer. have fun with your delicious clean corn... mmm! :)

I husk it down to the last layer and freeze it in a ziploc bag with all the air out. Works great!

yes you want to take it off the cob and cut the ends so that they fit in the bag. No need to parboil the corn just toss it in the freezer and take them out again when you're ready to eat them. My grandmother does it all the time.
