Not necessarily what can be felt or seen...as long as there is rational reason for things, then logical people believe it. A rational reason for - for instance - love is that when people are around each other and interact well, they develop a bond called love. God, to logical people, has no rational description or proof, therefore they have a hard time believing it.

I don't think that's the philosophy of atheism, since it is widely recognized that much of matter and energy as it exists in our universe is not seen or felt. Even the most negatively-entrenched cynics admit that there is matter and energy that cannot be seen.

I believe that the simple philosophy of atheism is not WANTING to believe in something that cannot be seen or felt. Simply not believing because something doesn't appear to be there is just plain scientific stupidity. But actually willing a belief in nothing takes some serious religious effort.

If your talking about God then is a question only you can answer yourself. Faith is something only each individual can answer themselves. I personally believe in a God but that is because what I have witnessed in life leads to beleive there is a God.

I can see the atheist point of not beleive in a god but that is probably due to the fact that they see the bad in the world and ask why would a god allow such a bad thing to happen. They then come to the conclusion that a god would not let such a bad thing to happen so therefore there is no god.

No. The philosophy of atheism is more like: "If there are no proofs and no strong hints that it does exist, but pretty strong hints it just is imagination, than it does not exist."

A rather rational credo in my book. I'm not an atheist, though. To me it is more likely "it does not exist in all probability".

I can't see an atheist's brain. I can't feel an atheist's brain. Does that mean that it doesn't exist?

Atheists (typically) believe that there is some contradiction in the very idea of any god existing. Usually, they've had some bad experience, and decide, "Since that religion is wrong, they all must be wrong."

I don't have any clue what atheism is but, you don't always have to "see" or "feel" something to make it exist. You can "see" something with your eyes and then you visually see it. But you can also "see" something when you just have a taught in your head. You still know what it looks like and everything. Also, you can "feel" something with your hands and you can "feel" something with just a taught. So if these are true how can something not exits. If doesn't exits its because you don't know about it yet.

With that philosophy, then they would never be able to handle physics. Physics is dealing more and more with theories about things that cannot be seen, felt, or even proven conclusively (which is why they argue about these theories and change them constantly). Dark matter, Dark energy and 11th dimension is just three examples of hundreds.

Can you see or feel your brain? Or your spleen? They exist right? How do you know? Because someone told you and you believe it, right? Have you ever hear of cells, or atoms, or microorganisms. There are many things that we can't see with our limited eyes, feel with our limited bodies, but that doesn't make them non-existent. We are just very limited, physically speaking.

You can feel with your heart even though you can't see with it. Like when you fall in love with someone, you just feel it, so you believe. I'm not an atheist so I do believe in God.
