I HAVE LOST MY GREEN CARD but i already filed for a replacement card. The problem is , the processing with INS will take at least six months or so.I understand that in CA you need a proof of eligibility to be employed. Without my green card I can't be employed. IS THERE ANY WAY for me to show my eligibity to work in the US while INS is processing my application??????

give them your SSN, they would know your status. i think it would appear what kind of SSN you have, whether your an immigrant, or has a working visa or an EAD, etc.

If you have (had) a green card, you will also have a SSN, and that will show whether or not you are eligible for work. Don't tell me you've lost that as well?
