There is no dye in beef. The diffrence between red and white meat is the protein composition of the muscle. The diffrence is in the composition of the due to myoglobin in the muscles.
Myoglobin, a protein, is responsible for the majority of the red color. Myoglobin doesn't circulate in the blood but is fixed in the tissue cells and is purplish in color. When it is mixed with oxygen, it becomes oxymyoglobin and produces a bright red color. The remaining color comes from the hemoglobin which occurs mainly in the circulating blood, but a small amount can be found in the tissues after slaughter.
Color is also influenced by the age of the animal, the species, sex, diet, and even the exercise it gets. The meat from older animals will be darker in color because the myoglobin level increases with age. Exercised muscles are always darker in color, which means the same animal can have variations of color in its muscles.
In addition, the color of meat and poultry can change as it is being stored at retail and in the home. When safely stored in the refrigerator or freezer, color changes are normal for fresh meat and poultry.

All meat is naturally red while alive and naturally grey when dead. This is because the blood cells are amazingly actually RED due to the color of the substance hemoglobin. The color difference in the store's cooler is due to different amounts of dye being injected into the meats. Dead chicken is grey. Dead burger is grey. Dead pork is grey. The raw beef is dyed red apparently to make it look more appetizing or to help illiterate people tell the difference. Notice when you COOK the beef, the dyes break down and it turns ... GREY! If it was naturally red, the color would not be affected by simple cooking. This is a lesson in DEAD MEATS 101.

One is from a pig and one is from a cow.
Pigs are pink. This line of logic doesn't follow though since cows aren't red.
