I have just transitioned into the United pentecostal church and I love it. For those that are apostolic, what do you do about skirts in the winter? What about shoes? I am really lost!

I usually wear skits that i feel comfortable in, I am of Apostolic Faith from the Apostles and Prophets. I wear sandals most of the time, of a thick heeled show when I have to be an usher.

In the Winter, I usually wear extra long skirts, and socks with boots.

Deuteronomy 22:5 A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this.

We are to wear clothing made for women, This is not to say that you will never wear pants, I wear pants, when I work in the garden or go out for a walk. However, everywhere else I wear skirts. Its really not that bad after you get used to it. Seek the Lord. you will feel the Holy spirit forming you.

HI! I've been part of the church now for about 5 years. i had to learn things through trial and error too. First of all in the summer I recommend wearing biker shorts under the skirt if you are going to be out for a while. That way there is no rubbing and chafing going on. I wore leggings under a long skirt in the winter for warmth. I also got alot of tights. There are alot of really cute shoes that are casual to wear with skirts. Tommy Hilfiger has a pair of tennis shoes that looks like baby doll shoes. Ask someone that has been in tghe church for awhile that is opem to helping you. If there is a youth leader that is a girl or the youth leaders wife I would bet she would be a good person to ask questions too. It can be confusing why we do certain things and so if you don't understand something first of all go to the bible and look and see if you can find answers and then ask someone you feel comfortable with. God bless! Tanya

I have always worn skirts, even before I became Christian. In the winter I just wear longer ones that are of thicker material. And if I have to walk a long distance in the snow, I put on a couple of pairs of sweatpants beneath the skirt until I get to where I am going.

I am not understanding what you are asking about shoes...

You can wear anykind of shoe you want to in the wintertime. Most people I know wear boots to church, then change into their other shoes.

You should find out for yourself you kinda sound like a puppett. I'm sure your not and are just curious but seriously God's law is written down to read for yourself don't let others tell you what it says.

If it is cold you better not wear a skirt and probably close toe shoes too. But in texas it's all good yee haww lol sorry

I'm a member of a pentecostal church and allowances have always been made because of weather and other circumstances. You cannot efficiently do God's work if you're sick or dying. Perhaps someone here can enlighten you better than I can. Take care and God bless you.

Well, for one thing, if you are wearing a skirt, make very SURE the guy with the blankets is standing by (and that he has plenty of blankets handy), BEFORE you go rolling over when the pastor touches you!! NOBODY wants to see them panties in church!!

As for shoes....if you are wearing heels (especially those spiky things), be very sure your feet are not too close to anyone's head BEFORE you start kicking out. We don't want any accidents!!

Well, up north I wore long skirts with tights/hose underneath, and boots, or regular heals. Then get a long down coat to wear over everything.

Skirts definitely. You can always wear a coat over them in winter.

Shoes,nice and preferably polished.

When in doubt tho, phone your church's office and ask if they have a dress code. If they do, abide by it.

wear comfortable pants. It is not a sin to wear pants in the church. Your church may have some kind of doctrine which says that you can not wear pants. However, as long as whatever you wear is acceptable to God, no man can judge you.

I didn't know you had to dress a certain way.
For church (any church-no matter if it's Christian, Pentacostal, Baptist, ect.) there is no limit on what you gotta wear. It's all about what's in your heart-not on your body.

Wear whatever you wanna wear. :)
