There's nothing that forces you to fly to get to the cruise location. You can always take a train or a bus if you're that afraid of flying. Of course, if you're in Denver, and the cruise is out of Miami, that might be a bit inconvenient.

If the air & cruise are a package deal, you can probably get at least a partial credit for the unused flights back by contacting the travel operator or the cruise company, especially if you can present them with a legitimate reason why you can't fly.

Most people are afraid to fly until they get into the air get comfortable and see how magnificent flying is. The only real scary part I think is the take-off and landing the first time but really there is nothing to worry about, You'd sure be safer then driving for one thing. If you've ever gone to a circus or carnaval and taken riders it's much more scarier then flying. Believe me, try it, you'll love it.
Also for those that don't think of an airplane cruises I've got news for you. Airplanes cruise thru the air where a ship cruises thru the water.

Understand that airplanes are very safe. They are safer than cars. Car when they stall on the road will stop and could be hit if not cleared from the road. Airplanes are different. If the engine should quit (and that is really almost an impossibility) then the airplanes turn into a glider.
You might want to look up the laws of aerodynamics. They might also help you to understand the safety of the aircraft. you have all for forces (lift, weight, drag and thrust) that keep the airplane flying and stable.
Don't be afraid. You will be alright. I have flown a number of times in the 25 years of my life all over the US and outside of the country. Been to Israel 10 times on airplanes. Rarely saw any problem.
Do remember to breath. Since you are afraid you can heighten the tension by not breathing and then you could suffer airsickness.

A cruise refers to a ship not a plane, but if you have to fly to get to the cruise, it's not that bad. Just take deep breaths, take something to get your mind off of the flight. I'd be more afraid of the cruise than the plane.

Get a script for some Xanax and pop a few before you fly. It'll accomplish 2 things. 1) You won't care about flying and 2) You'll probably pass out the whole plane ride.

Keeping saying to yourself "When I get on the ground I am on a cruise!"

Also - drink before and during the flight. Help you to forget you are scared - or put you to sleep. Both good results

They do sell over the counter pills that combat sea sickness as well as flying. But if that isn't your cup of tea. Suggest taking the train instead.

He ought to take some NyQuil and sleep by the flight? no longer some thing certain to concern of flying. tell him he has better probability of being struck by ability of lightning two times than being killed in a plane crash. human beings do not continuously reply, because maximum concern is irrational, even though it really is worth a shot. best of success to both of you

I recommend grabbing the first male partner that sit's next to you, take him in the restroom and bang his brains out. The whole rest of the flight you will be thinking of how the hell you could of just banged a total stranger, and before you know it you'll be on the ground and everyone will be happy!!! Or you could drink tequila.

are you afraid of flying or just the crashing part? If it helps airplanes have an angle they can reach that will help them glide without power if the engines fail.
