I found out the hard way that we should look for answer's ourselves.
I wasn't going on what the Bible said for Salvation.
I was trustiing what people had told me.
One day God flipped my world upside down as I realized that the Arminian and Calvinist Doctrines (I started on one extreem then almost went to the other) were both false and decided to let God show me Himself about what Salvation is all about.
It's the most important thing in life, and I want to make sure other people understand it,.
I was all mixed up by people's concepts and ideas, and also made some of my own up, and I never honestly understood the Bible. But God pulled the earth out from underme and everything false concept I trusted in was swept away as if by a storm, and then I started to learn to Trust God's Holy Spirit to show me and instruct me as to what His Word, The Bible, was about. I learned that the only being in existence Who can be trusted is God, and no human, not even myself can be trusted. We can be loved intensly and somewhat dependable, but not 100% trustworthy. God's been showing me He's faithful and really there to help us if we're willing to trust Him.
I know that the most important thing on earth is to go to Heaven after we die to be with Jesus, and to avoid the Hell we deserve for our sins.
Study and discover for yourself, don't take my word.
Just as much as there's unpardonable sin, there's unpardonable grace! Once saved always saved, and anyone can be saved, it's about freewill. Predistination I believe is only talking about God's knowing our future before were even born, and knowing who'll make a choice to accept Jesus, or who'll make a choice to reject Him.
But study to show yourself aproved! I'm only human, I make mistakes!
I do know that only God is perfect and He can be trusted, and so can His Bible.

It might be for several reasons, being too lazy as one of them. Some people respect the ones that are giving them the information, so they don't check for themselves, trusting that this person knows what they're talking about because they speak with authority & knowledge. Some might be afraid to know the truth because of guilt, or lack of knowledge. Some would rather not know, thinking that ignorance is bliss (what you don't know can't hurt you, right?). Some think they have all the answers and no one can tell them anything different, even if Jesus came to them personally and showed them the truth. Some will not believe what's right in front of them, thinking it can't be THAT easy. Some don't know where to find what they're looking for, and some don't even realise that anything is missing in their lives. So you see, there are lots of reasons (or excuses) for not finding out the truth. Many people don't believe that there's such a thing as absolute truth...what's true for me isn't necessarily true for you. Those people are in for a rude awakening when they try to apply that principle to the real world and find out that when you slam your finger in your car door, it hurts. And that's true for everyone. <*)))><

Fundamentalists are just like us
* 08 October 2005

We are all capable of thinking fundamentalist thoughts. It's when like-minded people get together that the trouble starts
SCOTT ATRAN knows a thing or two about fundamentalists, and as far as he's concerned, they are nice people. "I certainly find very little hatred; they act out of love," he says. "These people are very compassionate." Atran, who studies group dynamics at the University of Michigan, is talking about suicide bombers, extremists by anyone's standards and not representative of fundamentalist ideology in general (New Scientist, 23 July, page 18). But surprisingly, much of what Atran has discovered about suicide bombers helps to explain the psychology of all fundamentalist movements.
Ideas about the nature of fundamentalist belief initially drew heavily on work from the 1950s, when psychologists were trying to explain why some people were drawn to authoritarian ideologies such as Nazism. Guided by that research, psychologists focused on individuals, looking for personality traits, modes of thinking and even psychological flaws that might mark fundamentalists out from other people. The ...

It would be extremely redundant to check out every little fact such as gravity, physics, etc... that have quantitative and repeatable results. Everybody that has done the discovering in the past already agrees on a lot of things.
On the other hand, if you're speaking religiously, I think that everyone should research as much as they can on as many faiths as they can before deciding.

Yes we are lazy because let me tell you why. If everyone had questions, we as people think alike and we would be searching for the same answers to those questions at the same time.. what if the answer was in florida? then we all go to florida to seek the answer and you know what happens..all hell breaks lose baby!
kind of when they had a major power outage in New York.

Real Christain do seek the truth in the Bible.
The is a difference between knowing there is a god and knowing God. When we read his word and pray to him, have fellowship with other Christians and many other things we are finding out our own facts of God. and how God is there for us.

Because people have frightened them into believing that seeking the truth will send them to hell.
'Human nature' is in fact to explore, research and draw your own conclusions. Watch an infant - that's what they are constantly doing. The tragedy is that that is driven out of us by people who use fear of damnation to maintain their power over us.
The truth will set you free...

Mostly because we want to believe the information coming from those in our social groups - and keeping in mind that those social groups can be quite large, as in the case of an organized religion, there's a lot of information to sort through.
We're social animals, skepticism and independence are learned traits.

You know that's an excelllent question, but I think it's really becasue of lazyness or they just dont know how to go about finding the answers themselves. General questions are hard to go about answering becasue it requires much taught an a veriety of answers. But I think it's because people just generally believes what they read or hear becasue it "makes sence" or it's "seems correct"
