Ladle soup into small fire proof crocks or broiler/oven/microwave safe bowls.
Float slices of dried French Bread (or cubes) in bowls then add Parmesan Cheese (grated) and Swiss cheese (grated) topping it all off with a slice of Jarlsberg cheese. Let the slices overlap the sides of the bowl slightly.
Place the crocks in broiler/oven/microwave. Done when cheese bubbles and begins to turn a rich dark brown on top.

in restaurants we have little butane torches that we torch them with its quick and easy but the best way to do it at home is stick it under the broiler, if you put it in the soup while the soup is still very hot the cheese will melt on its own all though you won't have that pretty brown color on the cheese.

Julie B's answer is correct - but if you don't have a broiler handy, then you can put it in the microwave for a short time until you see it melt. The difference is that it won't get the nice golden brown edges using a microwave - but you do what you can with what you have!

Heat your bowl up in the microwave or in the oven before you put the soup in. Put you cheese over the top and it will melt.

They put it under the broiler for a couple of minutes to melt the cheese. It's not rocket science...
