BY FAR... Spanish is considerably more widely spoken than is Italian.. Remember that Italian is spoken almost exclusively in Italy. Spanish is spoken in Most of South America, Spain and three countries in Africa.

Well, my point of view is that it depends where you stay at and how the community is. Me for example I'm raise in a community where Spanish is use alot and it's the only way you can communicate with your elders unless you are lucky you where taught another language. And if you could not speak the language it would be very hard to communicate with others knowing your parents and family can't really speak that good of English and your their only help. What my parents always tell me is to never forgets my roots and be proud of where I'm from and who i am. So, i think spanish is use most.

Spanish is more spoken (in most of America- the continent, not the USA), Spain, the Philipines, and a few more places (which, by the way, don't include Portugal. Portuguese is spoken there).
I like Italian better, though. And I AM a native Spanish speaker from Argentina.

It's definitely Spanish, with over 330 million speakers. As of this moment, it's probably the second largest language behind Mandarin. English is 3rd and Italian isn't in the top 10.

Spanish is spoken in all countries of Latin America (except for Brazil) and in Spain, so imagine how many millions of people speak Spanish! Italian is spoken in Italy and in a small part of Switzerland, so do the math!

Definitely Spanish. Italian is spoken in only Italy and a few surrounding countries, while Spansih is spoken in every country in South America except Brazil. It is also spoken in most parts of Central, or "Latin" America.
